Stone Search Excursion

This social responsibility project was organized with the purpose of attracting attention and contributing to the promotion of very precious natural ornamental stones deposits of Turkey. Anatolian land has semi-precious stone deposits such as agate, amethyst, quartz, chalcedony, mossy opal, honey opal and green opal and precious stone deposits such as fire opal and tourmaline. Even though these important natural resources were intensively processed in the antiquity, there is no regular processing today except in the chalcedony deposits in Eskisehir. This project aims to search and collect ornamental stones, minerals and crystals, develop amateur gemology and promote the deposits in Turkey by organizing excursions to the locations. With the participation of lecturers and expert project consultants, the stone search excursions are planned to continue in 2006 with Eskisehir, famous for chalcedony stone in 2006.
